I must start off by saying this was my first time here.

My first impression was this place has a home restaurant feel. Very welcoming and the owners are very involved. The owner even shook my hand, what a first impression!
This happened to be the third Saturday of the month, which I think they recently started a live band. They have majority of the seating outside and with the live band, it was a wonderful evening!
The food was just as good as the welcoming staff, ambiance and presentation.
I'm not a hot dog fan originally, I've never had a good hot dog or maybe it's just I dont care for them...BUT THIS TACO DOG WAS NOW MY FAVORITE HOTDOG! and that says a lot. I can say I like hotdogs now, but I'll only eat them at this restaurant. So if anyone asks me if I eat hotdogs, I will say only at Best of friends Cafe and nowhere else!
The live band was delightful and the owners even had a free raffle for customers! Wow! Even though me and grace didnt win..I feel we won by being able to share our time at such an amazing cafe.
Come here and you'll see why they have so many 5 stars! -

Let me tell you something. Their cakes are absolutely delicious. This is my second day in a row I've gone back, just to get cake. I've tried their lemon, their German chocolate and their black and white cake and I've loved every one of them. And guess what? I'm going back again tomorrow to get more cake.
The owners and staff are so nice. Love supporting local businesses that offer incredible food and amazing service! -

5 star food, 5 star Service, Best of Friends is a must try if you are in the Tustin/Irvine Area. I stumbled across Best of Friends after I wanted to pick up a sandwich for my husband, on my way to grab him from John Wayne....because #travelmunchies . Best of Friends popped up in my feed and was a 10 min commute from the airport...score!!
The Cafe is located in a sports park in the middle of a little neighborhood, which made it even more cute! I loved it because there is a playground right outside, and I had my little one with me. It's convenient if you wanna grab a snack and let the kids play. The inside is very small, but very clean! The young lady who took my order was super polite and amped up everything on their menu. I like when employees are hyped about the items they're serving!...I decided on the BLT on sourdough, Turkey on Squaw, their famous banana cheesecake parfait and iced tea!
I loved everything!!! The parfait was my fave, only because I have a major sweet tooth. The sandwiches were good size and even came with a cookie. I will definitely be back to get another sandwich and take my other family members! I'm also eager to try their famous cakes that everyone raves about! -

I took Little O and her friend here after they finished a skateboard camp. They were both drawn to the tuna sandwich.
The tuna sandwiches were huge! Everything was freshly made to order so we did have a short wait. But it was worth it! It was served with a couscous pasta salad and a chocolate chip cookie. Little O had the tuna sandwich with avocado and she devoured it! The small amount I was given to taste was good. You tasted the tuna more than the mayo or relish so it was a well-balanced recipe. There was a ton of lettuce (which I would've loved if it were my sandwich) but she removed most of it. The couscous pasta salad was light and yummy. Great vinaigrette/Italian flavor without being too overpowering. I was not given a chance to taste the cookie, but seeing that both girls did not have anything left over I think I can assume it was yummy also.
As we waited for the sandwiches I stared and drooled at the yummy cakes and cheesecakes in their display. That's what I told the owner when he came by and asked if I needed help. LOL!
If I come to buy (and eat) one of those cake or cheesecake slices, I will have to make sure I walk the long way here and then the long way back home. LOL! Good to know they do close late (9pm) so this could be a go to late night dessert place for us.
I had a blueberry crumble muffin because I had eaten a late breakfast. The muffin was moist and the blueberries were sweet. I would come back for one of those again!
I hope to come back again and try more of their food.
The place is quaint and has about 6 or 7 tables inside and patio seating with umbrellas outside. It is right next to the tennis courts and playground, a short walk away from the basketball courts by Tustin Elementary School.
You should stop by and check it out if you're waking by or visiting the park. But don't be scared that they have a cafe, they also have your usual park food/concessions and snacks. -

It will surprise you that there is a restaurant that has this high quality of food located in a park. The sandwiches and salads are excellent and the desserts are incredible. The owners are warm and kind people. Give it a try.
